On December 19, 2019, The Training Source held its annual Office & Professional Services Training Graduation. Board members, staff, family and friends gathered at The City of Glenarden Community Center to celebrate enthusiastic employed and employable graduates of our job training program.
Graduates were presented with a Certificate of Completion for attending a 300-hour program that developed/enhanced their life, professional and computer skills. Graduates also received a Guest Services Gold certification which focuses on the seven key elements required to consistently deliver the highest levels of guest services.
Graduation attendees were moved by compelling stories from graduates about how The Training Source, Inc. changed their lives:
Tyson B.
Tyson B. – “My lessons in Microsoft Office will help me pursue new career goals and academics in the upcoming year. I am now equipped with the skills and confidence to start a new chapter in my life. It has been my honor to have been a part of this program, and I will use everything I have learned to my advantage.” Employed – February 2019.
LaVatte T. – “The Training Source has been such an inspirational journey. I have been encouraged by conversations with staff that has helped me improve personally and professionally. Now that I have been exposed to The Training Source, I am committed to continuing to enhance my computer skills. I realize that I am not alone on this journey (to employment). Shaniya S. – “My experience at The Training Source was absolutely wonderful. I learned and overcame things that I had no idea I would be able to do. During my training I learned new techniques on different software applications. I was given a lot of relevant resources that would help me for years to come. The Training Source’s motto is “We develop people, not just skills,” and that is evident by the personal and professional growth we see in graduates of our program. We are witnessing first-hand the manifestation of our vision of “economic mobility for all!”
